About

I’ve been a lawyer since 1976.  In a real sense I write for a living, but that’s dull and uninspiring writing.

Outside of writing for judges and clients I’ve written articles for various legal magazines such as Legal Management and the Utah Bar Journal.  I’ve written a column for The Intermountain Commercial Record on business and legal issues and a column on bicycle commuting for Catalyst Magazine.  I have one completed novel, The Cain Covenant, that is looking for a home.

My writing interests include adventure/thriller, nonfiction how-to legal, and the intersection of science and religion.

I have a professional website, schamberslaw.com. I just launched a website devoted to filing bankruptcy, utahbankruptcyfile.com.

I love the outdoors, especially backpacking in the mountains, bicycling and classical music.  I have played the clarinet for nearly 50 years and every holiday season play in our community orchestra’s production of Handel’s Messiah.

I’m married to Nancy and we have six children and (at present) 13 grandchildren with one more on the way.  We enjoy being with our kids especially at our cabin at Bear Lake.
